You can take the the legendary Parenzana, which used to be a railroad connecting Trieste (Italy) and Poreč (Croatia). This historical trail takes us through many Istrian landmarks: old towns, seaside trails, vineyards, olive groves, tunnels, etc. A must see while on the coast.

Here is a natural reserve Strunjan with a rich fund of marl and sandstone and the unique, eighty-meter Strunjan cliff, the highest flysch wall on the Adriatic coast.

You can make a walk on Slavnik which is the most popular hiking destination of our coastal region. Many paths from all directions lead to it. The shortest is the one from Podgorje village. At first it ascends through a lovely forest and later across the sunny (or windy) meadows.
